Red Clover

Clover is a herbaceous plant of the Fabaceae family which includes about 250 species, the two most common are Red clover (Pratense) and White clover or Ladino. Red Clover flowers are rich in flavonoids, coumarin derivatives and cyanogenic glycosides; they are also a rich source of calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, thiamin and vitamin A, vitamin B-12, vitamin E, K and C. Red Clover relieves symptoms of PMS, such as breast pain, bloating, nervousness. It stimulates bone mineralization, helping to treat and prevent osteoporosis. Its richness in isoflavones and estrogens, hormones primarily involved in the reproductive process, promotes fertility and counteracts menopausal disorders, such as hot flashes, nervousness and even depressive symptoms.

Lemon Balm

Native to southern and central Europe and to the Mediterranean regions, lemon balm is an aromatic herb belonging to the Labiatae family, also known as "limoncella", which grows spontaneously at the margins of bushes and among hedges. Rich in flavonoids (quercetin, apigenin), caffeic and chlorogenic acid derivatives, rosmarinic acid, triterpenes, glycosides, polysaccharides, mucilages and essential oils, lemon balm has carminative, diaphoretic, antispasmodic properties. Excellent sedative and tonic of the nervous system, it is considered by modern phytotherapy the best vegetal remedy for gastroenteric somatizations of nervous origin, for its excellent anxiolytic action and for its capacity to strongly relax the smooth muscles of abdominal organs and to rebalance the neurovegetative system, so much to be defined as the "vegetal valium". Therefore an excellent remedy for states of anxiety and nervousness due to the hormonal imbalance caused by menopause.

Vervain

Verbena is a perennial plant belonging to the Verbenaceae family with small purplish pink flowers gathered in an umbrella shape, which grows spontaneously on uncultivated land, near roads and country paths. Calming, anxiolytic and antineuralgic, verbena contains saponins, arbutin, polyphenols, essential oil, flavonoids and vitamins A, B and C - verbenalin, a glucoside which has a sedative and analgesic action on the autonomic nervous system, in particular on the parasympathetic. It has the capacity of rebalancing the mood and alleviating the states of stress, anxiety, apathy, tiredness, nervousness, insomnia and tachycardia, classic disorders of the menopausal period.

Alfalfa (Alpha Alpha)

The scientific name of Alfa Alfa is Medicago sativa, of which it still keeps the meaning in its popular name, Alfalfa.

It is a herbaceous leguminous perennial forage plant; its roots reach very deep into the ground therefore allowing the plant to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients. Among other properties we point out that Alfa Alfa is an excellent source of minerals (calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, potassium, selenium, sodium, zinc and sulfur), vitamins (A, Beta-carotene, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B12, C, D, E, K), Folic Acid and a high level of Chlorophyll. Alpha Alpha also has a strong antioxidant action. It is considered a plant particularly indicated in the regulation of cholesterol levels for menopausal women, being in fact rich in isoflavones, coumestrol and coumarins, all natural substances that regulate hormonal production inside the body, and moreover it helps lipid metabolism thanks to the presence of saponins.

Chasteberry

Chasteberry (scientific name Vitex agnus castus), commonly known as 'false pepper', is a small tree that grows spontaneously in very humid areas such as stream beds and river banks, in valleys and hills of the Mediterranean and Central Asia.chasteberry contains flavonoids, essential oils and other components, capable of acting on the pituitary gland, small gland at the base of the encephalon, which performs very important functions. It exerts an antispasmodic and antiestrogenic action, useful to contrast the symptoms related to the premenstrual phase, such as acne, irritability, anxiety, mood swings.

Agnocasto also helps to control neurovegetative disorders of menopause and to keep hot flashes under control as well as to fight water retention. The sedative effect of the plant is also useful in case of tachycardia, intestinal spasms, insomnia.

L-Tryptophan

In addition to being a key amino acid in protein synthesis, tryptophan is the starting point for the synthesis of some biological substances, including Serotonin, a very important hormone for psychophysical well-being. A deficiency of Serotonin can cause different disorders such as: depression and anxiety states. Serotonin is important in the sleep-wake rhythm, in the regulation of appetite, in learning ability and memory, in pain control, in inflammatory reactions and even in intestinal peristalsis.

Cimicifuga

Cimicifuga racemosa (L.) Nutt., or Actea racemosa, known simply as Cimicifuga, is a plant in the Ranunculaceae family, also commonly called "women's herb". The most significant components of the plant are triterpene glycosides, phenolic acids, quinolizidine alkaloids, flavonoids, and resins (cimicifugin) to the tune of 15-20%. Cimicifuga is a plant indicated to help counteract menopausal symptoms. In particular, it covers the broad spectrum of problems that can occur in most women during this delicate phase of change: from hot flashes to mood swings, Cimicifuga has been a proven support for menopausal women for centuries.

The Hop

The hop (Humulus lupulus) is a plant belonging to the family of Cannabaceae. Hops are rich in prenylflavonoids, active principles which have been studied for their important physiological activities, including those on menopausal symptoms. One of the most characteristic components of hops, the 8-prenylnaringenin, more potent than other already recognized vegetal estrogens such as those of soybean and red clover. This component, isolated from the polyphenolic fraction of hops, has been one of the most interesting natural substances from a biological point of view for a decade.

Zinc, Copper and Selenium

These trace elements are important during menopause as they have an anti-aging action, stabilize the mood by relieving the symptoms of depression and are regulators of the endocrine system thus supporting the hormonal imbalance that accompanies this physiological period of a woman's life.
